M. Kilburg Reedy is a playwright and songwriter whose best known play, SECOND LADY, was originally produced off-Broadway starring Judith Ivey. SECOND LADY has since been seen in Los Angeles (Drama Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Leading Performance and 3 Drama-Logue Awards, including one for Writing), the Edinburgh Fringe (Assembly Rooms), and in numerous other productions nationally and internationally including tours of Mexico and Australia. SECOND LADY is published by Samuel French, Inc. in a volume that includes two of Ms. Reedy's other plays, ASTRONAUT and FAIRY TALE ROMANCE. Ms. Reedy's full-length pop-rock musical, SPIN, A MUSICAL MYTH (with additional music by Jonathan Dinerstein), has been presented in staged readings in New York by the York Theater Company at Theater at St. Peter's, Amas Musical Theatre at ATA, and the Assistants Theater Company at the Douglas Fairbanks Theater, and is also published by Samuel French, Inc. Her work as a songwriter was featured in three "Songbook" concerts presented by Arts and Artists at the Donnell Library Theater in New York. Also an entertainment lawyer (J.D. Columbia) and a theatrical producer, Ms. Reedy has served as associate producer of the Tony-nominated Broadway production of BILL MAHER: VICTORY BEGINS AT HOME and the Off-Broadway productions TOXIC AUDIO IN LOUDMOUTH (winner of the 2004 Drama Desk Award for Unique theatrical Experience), ROUNDING THIRD and LANGSTON HUGHES's LITTLE HAM. Ms. Reedy lives in New York City.

Second Lady

Synopsis:
During her husband's campaign for the Vice Presidency of the United States, Mrs. Joseph Erskine finds herself alone on the campaign trail. When she loses the text of the prepared speech she is supposed to deliver, she begins to improvise. As she describes her life and her marriage, the elaborate web of rationalizations and justifications that she has constructed for her life begins to unravel, with disastrous consequences.

Spin, A Musical Myth

Synopsis:
When a headstrong teenage girl challenges the goddess Athena to a weaving competition, the resulting showdown of mythic proportions forever changes the girl's view of the world and her creative life. Based on a classical myth, this modern rock/gospel musical gives a new twist to an ancient tale.
