Lesley Storm was the pen-name of Mabel Cowie (born in 19 Dec 1898 in Maud, Aberdeenshire), where her father was the church minister, also known by her married name of Mabel Clark. She was a Scottish writer, who wrote a number of plays, some of which were filmed. Black Chiffon and Roar Like a Dove were major hits. She also wrote several screenplays, including The Heart of the Matter (1953), based on the novel by Graham Greene, and The Spanish Gardener, based on the 1950 novel of the same name by A.J. Cronin. She wrote some novels, the best known was Lady, What of Life? (Cassell, 1928). It depicted London social life in transition from Victorian to modern times. - Wiki

Day's Mischief, The

Synopsis:
Stephen Barlow brings one of his students home for extra tutoring. His wife Grace thinks that more is going on and attacks the girl who runs off into the night. Stephen runs after her but she has disappeared. When she fails to come home the police are notified and a search is on. For three days she is searched for and then they decide to drag the river. the girl turns up - alive - but Grace's body is found in the river

Long Echo, The

Synopsis:
Bryan defected to another country leaving behind his wife Fay and child. Through a colleague - Alex he has sent word to Fay that he would like to have her and the child join him. Fay whose love has been shattered by all this does not want to go. Alex arranges a half way meeting between Fay and Bryan to discuss things and so Fay goes to Paris. When Alex comes back to England he tells Fay's family that Bryan had her and the child abducted and that she is now behind the iron curtain. Alex has lost faith in the party that he loyally served.

The Duke of Urbino has an eye for the ladies. He sends his hairdresser, Caramello, disguised as a gondolier to bring the beautiful Barbara to him. Barbara has another assignation and persuades fisher girl Annina to take her place.
