Amanda has bought a modern painting. Her sister Valerie thinks it is rubbish. To prove her point she slaps some paint on to a canvas and invites an art critic to come and see it. He hails it as the work of a genius

Breach Of Marriage

Synopsis:
Ann and Peter are a young married couple. Peter has been paralysed during active war service. The result of this means he is unable to have sexual intercourse. Anne desperate to have a baby arranges to have artificial insemination from an anonymous donor. It is illegal to do this without the consent of the husband. Peter discovers what Anne has done and is intensely jealous. He also thinks he knows who the donor is. His behaviour is so bad that Anne leaves and goes back to her parents. Peter goes to the railway station to confront the sperm donor. Somehow Peter ends up falling in front of an oncoming train and is killed

Synopsis:
Father agrees to share his Pools winnings with the family if they agree to economise on things. When they see that the winning jackpot that week is £100 and that Father has the winning line they agree - not knowing that 99 other people also have the same winning line and the £100 is to be shared

Man Who Understood Women, The

Synopsis:
Charles is told by Arthur that he has no way with women. To prove his point Arthur tells him to ask the four women in the house to go to the pub in the rain and buy him some cigarettes. His girl friend refuses, his sister refuses, his mother refuses and his old nanny refuses. It looks like Arthur is right. But then all four women present Charles with a packet of cigarettes. They did not go out in the rain - they took them from Arthur's room

A burglar and his girlfriend break into a house. The owner a little old lady surprises them. She seems to be very knowledgeable about the criminal underworld that they think the old woman must be a crook to. But she is the mother of a Chief Inspector of Police and has been keeping them talking to give the police time to arrive and arrest them
