Tangled Feet are a physical theatre ensemble dedicated to devising original, accessible and innovative work. Since 2003, our productions have been pushing the boundaries of theatrical practice, exploring and exploiting the live encounter between audience and performer, and rethinking where and how performance happens. We make transformative theatre in public places, found spaces and theatre buildings. We have a reputation for creating work explicitly conceived for public spaces that involve and interact with the public, including; shopping centres, parks, nightclubs, school playing fields, disused buildings and high streets. The founding members of Tangled Feet studied Drama and Theatre Studies at Middlesex University and graduated in 2003, and have been working collaboratively since then. Using physicality, image, music, text and atmosphere to create truly "live" theatre, tangled feet tries to capture the audience in a total experience. We aim to push the boundaries of what theatre can be, to make bold performances that inspire thought and question. At the heart of our work is performance but surrounding and supporting that is dedicated and innovative work with young people and the community. A not-for-profit company since our foundation, we became a registered charity in 2011, number 1143406.

Care

Emily's Kitchen

Synopsis:
Emily s favourite room is her kitchen. She spends hours curled in an old armchair, listening to the radio. Her friends are the voices she hears on the radio and the lives she engages with. Far from being bored, Emily s life is full of excitement. She ventures to the mountains, works at seedy bar clubs and receives a standing ovation at The Royal Albert Hall. If this was not enough, every Sunday evening she is about to get married to Bill, a lone sailor with a passion for the high seas. But Emily always returns to the kitchen and reality. . . except this day she cannot turn back. Stuck amidst the radio waves, Emily needs help. . . Emily s Kitchen is a surreal mix of text, movement, projection and live radio which is touching, funny and very, very live!

Whether home is a mansion, a shack, or a tent, we all strive to protect the place of safety that we've created. Using their trademark blend of physicality, image, comedy, atmosphere, music and narrative, Tangled Feet explore where the edge of 'home' is, with extracts from their brand new show. Is home a place, a language, a network of people, or a four-walled structure? How fragile is the membrane between home and the rest of the world? How much of 'home' can we take with us? Lost Property

Synopsis:
Physical, experimental theatre. Everyman's loss is another man's gain. Finder's keeper's is the rule. But where do the lost things go? The memories, the keys, the loves, the socks. Who keeps them? Stuck in a room with only your memories, how can you find the way out when you don't remember the way in?
