Tom Wainwright is a writer, performer and theatre maker living in Bristol. Earlier this year, Tom created the solo performance Pedestrian, co-commissioned and produced by Bristol Old Vic and Theatre Bristol, with visual and sound artist Simon Wainwright (of Imitating The Dog  no relation) Pedestrian is about to spend this August at the Edinburgh Fringe at Underbelly. Last year he had his first play, Muscle, produced by Bristol Old Vic. BOV have also commissioned him for three other projects with their Young Company  Project Underworld and Fallen and Jump. Tom also wrote/performed in the sell-out BOV Christmas sketch show Jesus Christ It's Christmas, plus Love in Idleness and The Grill Chef  all co-productions between Bristol Old Vic and Paper Aeroplane Theatre Company. Nuclear Family has been developed through Royal Court Young Writers Programme which Tom took part in earlier this year. Tom is a member of Residence: an artist-led organization in Bristol.

Banksy: the Room in the Elephant

Synopsis:
Banksy was in LA for the Oscars when he sprayed 'tHIS LOOKS A BIT LIKE AN ELEPHANT' on an old water tank. The tank was residence for a local legend, Tachowa Covington, who over seven years had furnished it with carpets, a stove - even CCTV. As news spread of Banksy's latest work, a consortium of art dealers soon appeared to repossess the water tank. Suddenly, Tachowa was homeless again. . .

Psychodrama

Synopsis:
Psychodrama is being presented as a double bill with Search Party's show Psychodrama is a form of therapy that can uncover some uncomfortable truths that can be damaging if not managed with sensitivity. Room in the Elephant, The

Synopsis:
Last year in Los Angeles the graffiti artist Banksy scrawled THIS LOOKS A BIT LIKE AN ELEPHANT on a worthless water tank and turned it into a priceless work of art. Those in the know rose in unison to salute the artists latest comment on homelessness  the metaphorical elephant in the room. An inevitable land grab subsequently followed and the water tank was taken away. But someone had been living there. For seventeen years. And in a cruelly ironic twist of fate this man was now homeless. Because of Banksy. Or so the story goes.
