Dreaming Of Cats

Synopsis:
For Helen, a gallery owner, and her husband Max, a psychologist, the morning of an acquaintance's funeral puts questions concerning their life together under the microscope. They discover the need to re-evaluate their marriage. Their daughter Paula and her husband Oliver are staying with their parents prior to setting off on their honeymoon. Their young marriage is already showing clear signs of tension as both are very different characters. Philip, a client of Max's, drops by to discuss his relationship difficulties and suddenly finds he has to rethink his life completely. The successful German playwright Peter Bradatsch in his new play creates characters who seek to master their problems seriously, though with humour, through self-deception and lies. A bitter comedy about relationship breakdown, loyalty and love.

Hansel and Gretel

Synopsis:
This musical version of Hansel and Gretel is told by a chorus of birds who become the characters in the story. Money is short. Food is short. Fuses are short. . . Hansel and Gretel's stepmother is jealous and cruel (or is she?) and packs the children off into the wood to get lost - and good riddance. But she doesn't bargain for their courage, nor for the help of their avian friends, Magpie and Robin, self-styled 'Woodland crusaders'. When Hansel and Gretel discover the fabulous (but deadly) Gingerbread House, with its icing-sugar roof and walls of fudge, they appear doomed. The Witch seeks to fatten Hansel up as her Dish of the Day, but is bested by Gretel in the nick of time. A tale of adventure, humour and fun - with just the hint of a moral. A magical show for all ages.

Witchwood

Synopsis:
An environmental musical set in a wood (Witchwood) threatened with destruction by proposals for a major road development. The central group is the family whose home and livelihood are most at risk, and the main image is the ancient Great Oak of Witchwood, which must be felled to make way for the road. The action moves through the four seasons - a complete annual cycle of the Wood - from Summer, when the plans are first announced, to the following Spring, when the Wood is cut down. WITCHWOOD tells the story of the growing resistance to the plans and of the resultant clashes between (and within) the family, protestors, politicians and developers. It is packed with humour as well as action and, though 'issue based', is designed to entertain and to provide strong acting and musical opportunities for individuals and groups.
