Sins of Omission
Synopsis:
When the Nazis took over Rome towards the end of the Second World War. The Chief Rabbi, Dr Israel Zolli disappeared. He had sought sanctuary at the Vatican. Seven months later when the Allies captured Rome he came back. He demanded his back pay for the months he was in the Vatican but the Jewish people of Rome refused to let him have it and they also told him he was sacked. The Americans got him reinstated. A few moths later Dr Zolli resigned and converted to Catholicism
