Kimball Baden Allen is thrilled to present his bestselling one-man show, Be Happy Be Mormon. The play will premiere at the highly-acclaimed Theatre Row in the heart of New York City's theatre district as part of the United Solo Festival. He has written for several nationally syndicated publications such as The New York Times, EDGE Media Network, and The Capitol Hill Times. As a freelance journalist Allen has interviewed a wide variety of celebrated individuals including the legendary drummer, John Densmore, of The Doors, R&B Grammy nominee, Brian McKnight, award winning songstress, Jewel, and porn star, Ron Jeremy. Allen enjoys performing segments of his original stories at Seattle's Fresh Ground Stories and Mortified Live events. He is a member of the prestigious Dramatists Guild of America; a Nominator for Seattle's Gregory Awards and also dedicates his time and energy as a Director for the YMCA, a cause-driven non-profit that is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Synopsis:
Be Happy Be Mormon is a voyeuristic look into the childhood of a Bambi-loving vegetarian, ballet slipper wearing, Diet Coke drinking gay Mormon Boy Scout. Born into a large conservative Idaho family he doesn't relate to, Kimball Allen chronicles his upbringing as a fabulous black sheep through colorful narration, private home movies, songs, dance and the occasional acrobatics in this hysterically tragic performance.
