Long Story Short

Synopsis:
Our lives are getting shorter. We live in a world of Wikipedia, Tinder chats and Twitter feeds - an information age of anything, anytime. With newspapers staying on shelves and journalists in the dock, we're losing faith in the institutions we once trusted and becoming our own reporters. Long Story Short sheds new light on the ever-increasing speed of our digital lives and illuminate the implications of such a climate asking, "what's next?" as a new chapter of British journalism begins. A cast of seven play multiple roles in a production that plunges audiences headlong into the high-octane turmoil of a modern media world, captures the desperation of a sixteen-year-old youth offender as he tried to find his missing brother and travels through the 1960's with a young entrepreneur as he endeavours to spark revolution on Fleet Street. This episodic, multi-stranded show is vibrantly staged with Squint's trademark cocktail of original drama, live music and ensemble-driven storytelling.

Supper's Ready

Synopsis:
a twisted family reunion of a once beautiful homecoming queen turned crack-addicted Goth chick; the Southern Baptist mother who speaks aloud to God; her zany hyper-intelligent son; his older maniacal Marine Corps brother and another estranged brother with his new wife can only add up to a new dark comedy by Lee anderson. This hilarious, one-act play begins when the estranged brother, Wade, brings his new wife home to meet his demented, North Floridian family. the resulting visit is nothing short of harrowing. each character represents the past and present of the family relations as secrets are uncovered and the reasons behind their madness are revealed. In an offbeat blend of Sam Shepard-like issues and the disturbing comedy of Tom Solondz's Happiness, Anderson weaves a compelling story about the extremes of family dysfunctions and the consequences of trying to deny one's roots, no matter how justified the denial might be.
