Bloom
Synopsis:
Bloom is set over four periods in the last 100 years with the time periods and the events intertwined. Gossiping gnomes, changing seasons, a growing garden and the history of a family all mesh together. Beginning in 1912 with the design of a beautiful new garden for the manor, the garden comes complete with a garden gnomes. Then in 1945 during the second world war, the garden is taken over for a Dig for Victory campaign and is primarily used for growing vegetables, tended by German and Italian prisoners of war. The Greenham Common protests feature in 1982 before we find the contemporary garden now owned by Emily who has inherited the garden from her mother Rosa. When she arrives she finds an older man called Os there. He is a rather strange guerrilla gardener who talks to the garden gnomes. Bloom finishes with a song - a version of "In an English Country Garden".
