After Party
Synopsis:
In October 1820, Franz Schubert and his closest friends gathered together in a Viennese drinking-house to celebrate art, freedom and love. Before the evening had ended they were arrested by the secret police their fractured circle never to be complete again. Innovative music theatre company Re:Sound recreates this eventful evening in the familiar environment of the modern-day drinking house. Featuring a cast of four actor-musicians as Schubert and his close circle of friends, and with a new script by Katharine Armitage, the company welcomes the audience into Schuberts world, away from the formality of the concert hall, to be thrown instead into a personal encounter of friendship, humour, revolution and loss.
