Kevin Augustine is artistic director of Lone Wolf Tribe, a contemporary puppet Theatre company creating challenging work for adults since 1997. As playwright, director, puppet maker and performer, Augustine's fantastical and visceral productions aim to explore the edges of both theatrical style and human experience. He has written six full-length productions for his company and is working on his seventh. these include Once Vaudeville, Big Top Machine (winner of an Overall ExcEllence Award for Solo Show at the New York International Fringe Festival), Ten (winner of a Critics' Choice Award at the San Francisco Fringe Festival), Animal (published in Plays & Playwrights 2005)and BRIDE (winner of a 2008 UNIMA Citation for ExcEllence in Puppet Theatre and twice listed as A Top 10 Best Show of 2008 by Time Out New York.) Time Out New York's Theatre editor David Cote praises, In the church of puppetry artistry, Augustine is divine and Martin Denton has lauded Augustine's work as "utter genius". Augustine's plays have been performed at Theatre festivals in Brazil, Africa and Europe and have received funding by the Jim Henson Foundation, the Greenwall Foundation, NYSCA & the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts as well as others. His newest show, HOBO GRUNT CYCLE is a clown meditation on War & Peace.
