"I was born and raised in Kenosha, a small town in southeastern Wisconsin, about 50 miles north of Chicago right along Lake Michigan. I graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech, majoring in Theatre with a minor in English. Later I earned an MBA from Regis University in Colorado Springs, Colo. with an emphasis in International Business. Most of my experience in Theatre has been in acting - dramas, comedies and musicals. Roles I am particularly fond of as an actress include: Grandma Kurnitz in Lost in Yonkers, Rabbi Sharon in the Greatest Story Ever Told, Martha Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, Jacks Mother in Into the Woods, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret, Sister Helen in Nuncrackers and Meg in Damn Yankees. However the number of roles for aging female actors grows smaller. As a result, I have reinvented myself as a playwright. Over the years Ive written skits for various college, adult and childrens groups, but was inspired to do more after acting in a local womens playwriting festival. However, the festival plays always seemed to come from out-of-town playwrights. Believing that we had writing talent in our own community, a number of festival participants, mostly actors and directors, decided to form their own playwriting groups with the purpose of becoming incubators for local writers. Through the helpful feedback of these groups I was able to write "Disposing of Grandma," as well as several other short plays: "Till Death Do Us Part," "Fantasy Reunion," "Window of the Soul," "Fasten Your Seatbelts," a one-woman show "Magdalenas Story" the prequel to "Disposing of Grandma," as well as a childrens play, "the Great Fire Serpent Tulikaarme." I work as a copy editor and office manager for a small family owned newspaper. I am married to Sy, my husband of 32 years. We have two adult children and three grandchildren."
