Don Bapst's diverse body of work deals with the feeble attempts people make to communicate despite their vastly different references and interests. His work draws on references ranging from 18th and 19th century French literature to contemporary queer culture, horror films, corporate workshops and immigration procedures. the playwright has lived in five countries on three continents and has had short independent films screened in Toronto, Montreal and Chicago, as well as at the Short Film Corner at Cannes. He has performed solo work in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Montreal and Toronto.

Bar, The
Synopsis:
a look at the chaos that comes with cocktails. . . both out on the frontline and behind the scenes at an anonymous gay bar in a large city. the audience spends equal time with the regulars and the staff to discover that under their biting dialogue, a secret is lurking. For one thing, there may have been a murder. everything comes out in the open at the big Halloween bash, though after all those cocktails, who will remember anything in the morning?

It's a celebration of the Great North, where less really is more, and an exploration of the immigrations we are each making every day.

World His Story 101
Synopsis:
Influenced by West African story telling, the Grand Guignol, and Times Square video arcades, World His Story 101 traces the individual's isolation from gender, sexuality and love in contemporary Western culture. It's a quickie "go-go theater" that takes the audience from post-colonial Africa on a quick musical tour of the sex clubs of the world through colonizing France via the great cultural imperialist, America.
