Aglaonike's Tiger
Synopsis:
glaonike, the first female astronomer, could predict lunar eclipses, but her science was suspect because she was a woman. She therefore billed herself as a sorceress and claimed she could draw down the moon. Inspired by her unsung history, this coming-of-age play follows the protagonist through a series of challenges, both magical and scientific. Drawing on ancient Greek traditions and postmodern performance trends, Aglaonikes Tiger is stylized and visual and uses puppets and masks to explore political, ecological, and scientific themes.

Another Manhattan
Synopsis:
Another Manhattan is the story of Liz, a 9-11 victim who finds herself transported to 17th-century New Amsterdam. Act 1 is set in the autumn of 1642 and act 2 in the winter of 1643. The setting is always a kitchen, first Anikas and then Willem Kiefts. Kieft, the Director-General of New Amsterdam, was a tyrant who declared war on the Indians (all of them) and thereby jeopardized the safety of the Dutch settlers. He fabricated lies about the Indians crimes in order to drum up support for his war, and he pitted tribes against each other by offering payment for scalps. Kieft is a historical figure; he does not appear as a character in the play, but he serves as an off-stage catalyst for the major actions and as a parallel for President George W. Bush. All the characters in this play are fictional but exist within the context of history

He Killed My Bird, Or, Now That We're In Heaven
Synopsis:
De-Fictionalizing Women Who Kill. "When I teach Women Who Kill, a survey of American drama by women, Im amazed at how easily my students side with the murderesses, particularly when the plays are based on true stories, and real-life society ostracized these women. Why do audiences respond so receptively to these re-tellings? With characters inspired by the women who inspired Trifles, Machinal, My Sister in This House, and Self-defense, or death of some salesmen, my play examines how these stories work and what they reveal."
