Body, TheBody, The
Synopsis:
For The Body, Barrett and Mari collaborate with The University of Nottingham's Mixed Reality Lab and Middlesex University's computing, design and robotics department to create an episodic journey around the body using heart-monitors attached to each audience member and a cast of dolls. This abstract and highly visual event considers what it is to be alive and human by examining the full spectrum of our body's associations, from the medical to the poetic.

Winners of this year's Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award, Nigel Barrett and Louise Mari make bold, intriguing work that is full of visual surprises. Collaborating with technologists, they have created this unusual theatrical event as a 'paean to life in all its dark beauty and complexity.
