During my formative years I studied in Leicester, an academic with a varied imagination and a sense of humour you could cut bread with! Those childhood days have become more important as I moved through life, in fact it is a time I would happily relive. Life was different then, not necessarily better just different, "I took it for granted, never gave it a second thought, well you don't not when you're a kid . . . you think things will never change caught up in today and tomorrow is so very far away" ("The Luckiest Man In The World" 2005). and school is a perfect example of the changes which have taken place, and indeed mathematics! We were not allowed calculators to aid our study, computers were non existent, and we still belonged to the world of mental arithmetic!!! We would enter the class to our teacher throwing numbers out as we entered trying to duck as the mathematical bombs rained down on us 7x9 Bartlett if we answered incorrectly we would find ourselves writing out that particular sum a hundred times . . . Now in this world of technology a student would simply reply . . . "hold on sir, (or his Christian name) I haven't switched my laptop on yet"!!!! But it was time of great change (not necessarily changes that were great) decimalisation, the Common Market, crippling strikes and global unrest built around my solid working class background. It was during this time, I remember, when the children exiled from Uganda arrived, it was a time of great excitement, the opportunity to learn from children of our own ages, yet they appeared through their words more like adults to us, exposed as they had been to a world without justice and peace! Yet to us we were the same, united as children in our struggle against the world! We were not aware at the time that their arrival would also bring about a new language, something which grew out of ignorance of adults and the innocence of children "Racism" and out of that we are all now too familiar with! My writing began at school at the age of fourteen I submitted my first piece of writing for the school play, while others wrote about the wonders of Christmas, love or music, I invented a world revolving around the birth of triplets through caesarean section . . . the play was never born and I was seriously questioned about my state of mind. No evidence was forthcoming and I was allowed to continue my life never settling into anything for more than what it took to validate my reason for moving on . . . again! Now I have finally found my place, writing based upon my experiences or through my imagination, and love of music . . . My work is entertaining, informative and educational and hopefully thought provoking, it will make you laugh and cry . . . but most of all sincere, my work is an insight to my heart, soul and mind . . . I am now 45 years old, I hope wiser but with the same energy and enthusiasm for life, a burning desire for justice, truth and equality in all things, this I wish for my sons Ryan, Luke and in memory of alexander, all of my family, friends and all mankind.

Interview, The Luckiest Man In The World, TheInterview, The
Synopsis:
a thought provoking play depicting a singular ac-count of the Holocaust. Phillip Carter, an enthu-siastic reporter arranges an interview with a holo-caust survivor, Ms Ruben. His enthusiasm and per-sonal crusade to show the world why the holocaust happened, is demolished once he comes face to face with Ms Ruben. The reporter transitions almost immediately from inter-viewer, to interviewee. Ms Ruben's firsthand account of Life in the holocaust quickly exposes the com-mon naivety the reporter shows, a characteristic shared by the majority of modern people to date. The play, through emo-tional flashbacks, cleverly stages the events of Ms Ruben's life. They demon-strate the happiness, loneliness, and the graphic violence endured by those people effected in Germany and the rest of Europe. The intelligent script explores the reality of human ignorance, and force the question around humanity's dark capabilities. The Play is sure to send you on a rollercoaster of emotions, and through its intellect will entice you to ask your own questions relevant to our world today.
