Abi Basch's plays include Voices Underwater, feaR oF a FuHrer, Lucy Dies in Fives, and Preservation (a Bird Mutation). She's received two Jerome Fellowships from the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, three Austin Critics Table award nominations including for Best New Play, Best of Fest in Fronterafest, a Fulbright Scholarship to research physical collaborative Theater methods in Germany, and an Alexander von Humboldt German Chancellor Scholarship to write and direct a performance installation with principal dancers from the Hamburg and Dresden Ballets at a Hamburg war memorial. She's a member of German-American collaboratively-based physical Theater company KInderdeuTsch Projekts, and of Austin Scriptworks.

Synopsis:
Put on a show for your enemy. Watch your lover betray, ants cry, stars fall from the sky, a small doll creak through the wreckage and the coin monkey clap. a collaboratively generated exploration of puppetry, film, movement, and sound to approach the impossible impulses of violence and devotion.

Lucy dies fives times five different ways and each time and against her will her brain keeps going and going can't make it stop because brain activity that is after the body dies brain activity continues for several minutes five maybe.

Preservation (A Bird Mutation)

Synopsis:
theo and Pearl are the happy couple, daily toasting their daily bread in a pristine 21st century living-room. When Pearl's long-lost now-found left-for-dead sister Gams falls into their lives unexpectedly, she disrupts their carefully-constructed world, unearthing a war-torn past, and memories they'd rather keep buried beneath ash.
