BRENDON BATES is a playwright, screenwriter, and educator. He was born and raised in Acton, Massachusetts. He carries a B.A. in Theatre from Allegheny College, an M.A. in Acting from Antioch University, and an M.Ed. in Moderate Disabilities from Lesley University. In 2002, he graduated from the Two-Year Professional Actor Training Program at The New Actors Workshop, where he studied under George Morrison, Mike Nichols, and Paul Sills. Brendons plays include The Savior of Fenway (NYC International Fringe Festival, 2003), Trent Galleys Dying Wish (Full Circle Theatre Company, 2004), The Assassination (Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, 2005), and Corps Values (New York International Fringe Festival, 2006). The Savior of Fenway received the Excellence in Playwriting Award at the 2003 NYC Fringe Festival. The Assassination was nominated for "Best Play" at the 2006 Theatre Festival in Black and White in Pittsburgh. In 2007, the Pittsburgh Council for the Arts nominated Corps Values for Best Drama. Brendons work has been published through Applause Books (One-One-One: The Best Male Monologues for the New Millenium), The New York Theatre Experience (Plays & Playwrights 2007), and Speert Publishing, Inc. His screenplays include Special Privileges, The Hitchens, Jimmy Mac, and the adaptation of Corps Values. Brendon is the Co-Founder of Full Circle Theatre Company, LLC and BC Productions, LLC. From 2002 2006, he worked for William Ivey Long Studios and served as a faculty member at The New Actors Workshop. Now living in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Brendon is teaching Creative Dramatics at The Carroll School as he continues to develop various projects for both stage and film.
