Evil Marmayuk, The (Or The Adventures of Queenie & Dolphy)

Synopsis:
Queenie and Dolphy's Mom has been kidnapped by the monster 'The Evil Marmayuk' because Mom possesses 'The Magical Mist' elixer which will "make all people well". Queenie and Dolphy's Mission is to find "The Magical Mist" and give it to Marmayuk so Marmayuk will let their Mom go. This dramatic yet silly one-act musical romp (music included) teaches children the lesson "don't judge a book by its' cover". It offers lots of fun, larger-than-life characters and an absurd, Opera-Buffa-Musical-Duel which ends with the bad guy gettin' his come-uppence and everyone going home happy.

Exercise in Confusion, An

Synopsis:
14 people on a New York City Bus talk fast AT but rarely TO each other as we investigate example after example of being unaware of anyone but ourselves as we interact with people all day. An Exercise In Confusion flies between short two-person and chorus scenes plus a few monologues that give people a look at how we treat each other, how we often do not listen to each other and some reasons why. This funny, dramatic and quirky play teaches listening, tolerance and accepting others. It runs about 30 minutes.

Notes:
The set can be just chairs for the bus or can be elaborate. Technically, An Exercise In Confusion is a wonderful challenge because the actors experience performing synchronized, precise work in a fast-paced chorus and individual scenes, learn to be depended upon and in doing so, feel the unity of contributing, being part of something bigger than themselves, acting with one voice.

The concept here is that there are 'Masters of Wisdom' who appear to keep humanity on the road to perfection.
