Christmas Carol, A

Synopsis:
This is a new musical adaptation of the classic Dickens tale. Follow along with Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by four ghosts; his old business partner Marley, the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future. See what happens when he gets a glimpse of his own future if he doesn't change his life. Will Scrooge catch the holiday spirit and save himself in the process? This production is suitable for kids ages 3 and older. The performance is preceded by a workshop in which the audience learns about the original book and how it was turned into a musical. The kids and their families make a special art project and take it home as a souvenir.

Stone Soup

Synopsis:
Set in the Revolutionary War America, two lost soldiers stumble upon the "perfect" village while searching for food and shelter. Unfortunately, the villagers are not so willing to share with these weary men until the soldiers begin to make their favorite meal-Stone Soup. This classic fable, told with mirth and music, makes us realize that anything is possible if we all work together. To further the message of community, the audience is asked to bring canned goods to place in our soup pot which will be given to City Harvest. Recommended for ages 3 to 103! In addition to the one-hour musical, the audience receives a special treat-interactive arts workshops prior to the performance (they begin at 10am). Here the audience learns about the original book and how we turned it into a musical. We discuss the themes of the show and how the arts bring literature to life.
