Martyn graduated with a Bachelor of Honours Degree in Acting from Newcastle College in 2011. Since then he has written and performed his own play Double Act, which centred on the career and lives of a long running comedy duo. It premiered at Surgeons Hall as part of The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011. It ran for the full festival garnering positive reviews and notices for script writing and performances. In 2012 it was adapted for Spark FM radio and renamed Stick To The Act. Whilst co-writing Wisdom of a Fool he has been working behind the scenes at the BBC's Newcastle Studio. Martyn is the on board voice for Thomson Cruise Liners for which he also works as Crusie Director for Thomson Dream. Previous credits include: Presenter for 360 Development, Cabin Boy in Curse of Skull Island, Captain Blood in Dick Whittington, Arthur Douglas in Stick To The Act and Mayor Botchett in Jack and the Beanstalk (tour). Martyn also has his own Podcast, Creativity Talks where he interviews creative people.

Wisdom of a Fool
Synopsis:
In this emotional rollercoaster one-man play Jack takes you behind Norman Wisdom's well-known character to reveal a tough and lonely childhood. After joining the Army he discovers a passion for comedy and begins to perfect an act that would go on to shape his unique style. The world of post-war Music Hall and Variety embraces Norman's manic slapstick routine catapulting him to stardom in the early 1950s. Success on the silver screen including the hit song, 'Don't Laugh at Me', seals his fame. But fame comes at a price. . .
