Writer and director PETER BENEDICT trained as an actor and has performed in the West End and New York. Peter wrote and directed the highly popular national tour of NAKED FLAME, which tours again from April 2001. His directorial credits include MACBETH with Mark McGann and Jasper Britton, the national tours of Terry Pratchett's cult GUARDS! GUARDS! with Paul Darrow, SATYRICON in London and New York, THE HARDMAN and THE JEW OF MALTA at the Donmar Warehouse. Composer WILLIAM HETHERINGTON has collaborated with Peter Benedict on numerous productions before including THE BEGGARS OPERA at Holland Park and THE CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AND CAPITAL PUNISHMENT OF ANIMALS at the Lyric. William also writes music for radio and television including the theme tunes for EUROFILE and THE AMERICAS FILE. Designed by DAVID SHIELDS, costumes by MICHAEL BALDWIN and musical direction by TREVOR DEFFERD.

Daydream Believer
Synopsis:
In the 60's The Monkees were one of the most successful bands in the world, with their own zany television series and a string of number one hits. Four boys audition for a band and unwittingly become stand ins for the most famous group on the world. Once on tour typical Monkees mayhem ensues with singing nuns, a mysterious Russian impresario, and an ill-fated love affair - all played out, by a live band, to the soundtrack of The Monkees greatest hits, Last Train to Clarksville, I'm a Believer, I'm not your Steppin' Stone, Daydream Believer, Pleasant Valley Sunday and of course Hey, Hey We're the Monkees.
