Irving Berlin (born Israel Isidore Beilin, May 11, 1888 September 22, 1989) was an American composer and lyricist of Russian-Jewish origin (born in Tyumen, Russian Empire). Widely considered one of the greatest songwriters in American history, his music forms a great part of The Great American Songbook. He published his first song, "Marie from Sunny Italy", in 1907 and had his first major international hit, "Alexander's Ragtime Band" in 1911. He also was an owner of the Broadway theater the Music Box Theatre.

Setting: the play is laid in two mythical countries. One is called Lichtenburg. the other is the United States. Miss Liberty
1885. Horace a newspaper photographer bungles an assignment to photograph the Statue of Liberty and is fired. Maisie his girlfriend persuades him to go to Paris and find and photograph the model for the statue. He goes and finds Monique at the sculptor's studio. White Christmas
Synopsis:
White Christmas is the optimistic yarn about decent people who hurdle personal misunderstandings to end up being, well, decent people who are full of good cheer during the holidays in 1954. World War II army buddies and showmen Bob and Phil meet the sister act of Betty and Judy and end up at a Vermont Inn run by the guys' former commanding officer, Gen. Waverly. the inn has fallen on hard times, and so has the general, despite the presence of his caring ex-actress "concierge," Martha, and a visit by his granddaughter, Susan. the showfolk find a solution to the general's post-war malaise by planning a show at the inn - on Christmas eve, no less. Cue the snow.
