Box Breaking PointBox
Synopsis:
A large box has been to the Bennet family home with no indication of its origin or of the intended recipient. As the members of the family come home, one by one, there is much speculation as to what the box might hold. The two children and their parents have to wait until Grandpa arrives to reveal that he has accepted the box on behalf of an absent neighbour who happens to be from Somalia. This creates tensions with the mother whose family was chased out of Uganda by Idi Amin in 1972 when she was only twelve years old. The box becomes a metaphor for the various problems associated with life in the early years of the 21 century
