Judy Bierwirth's play 'Alive and Kicking' was produced by Playbox in 1991. 'Don't Bother Me Now I'm Dying' was given a rehearsal reading at MTC in 1995 and a full production by Waverly Theatre in 1996. Judy has also written for television ('Autumn Roses' 1974) and has written for a performer in Theatre Restaurant. Other works include 'Transported' and 'The Gallery' (Theatre of the Absurd) and 'Black Jack' (a melodrama).

Don't Bother Me Now, I'm Dying

Synopsis:
Dorothy, an elderly woman, persuades her sister Rita to discuss double suicide. But when a couple of homeless teenagers break into their house, an odd friendship develops between the girl, Mellie, and Dorothy. Then Dorothy dies in her sleep, Mellie's baby dies soon after birth and Rita takes the pills that Mellie has supplied. An appealing tragi-comedy, both poignant and moving.
