Sierra's one-act musical After I Caped Myself in Red was professionally produced Off-Broadway at the Harold Clurman Theater as part of David Letterman's Writopia Worldwide Plays Festival in 2013. Her play The Drill subsequently won the NYC Write a Play! Competition, as well as the Worldwide Plays 'Best Dramatic Play' award. The Drill went on to win Stephen Sondheim's prestigious National Young Playwrights Competition in 2014- through which it received an Off-Broadway staged reading at the Cherry Lane Theater in 2015. Sierra's play Slumber was a 2015 Finalist with Sondheim's National Young Playwrights Competition, and winner of the NYC Write a Play! Competition. Slumber received a staged reading at Hunter College, and was awarded a regional Silver Medal from Scholastic in the Dramatic Script category. Sierra was invited as a Top Finalist/Visiting Guest Playwright to the Eugene O'Neill's Young Playwrights Festival in 2015, and One Audience in Search of an Ending received Honorable Mention awards from the Sondheim National Young Playwrights Competition and Scholastic. Sierra's play Bang was a winner of the 2016 Worldwide Plays and was produced as part of the festival Off-Broadway at Theater Lab in NYC. Sierra is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Actors Equity Association and MENSA. A Latinx native NY'er, she is a product of the NYC public school system for gifted learners. Sierra has formal training in piano, voice, acting and dance. As an actress she has appeared Off-Broadway in Six Characters in Search of an Author with Theatre de la Ville as part of BAM's Next Wave Festival, in several SVA student films, and in comedy sketches with Asif Mandvi and Bill Nye for Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, as well as with Stephen Colbert for The Late Show. She is represented by Abrams Artists. A feature article on theater which she wrote was published in the national Young Mensan Magazine, and her science fiction stories have appeared in Writopia's Ellipse e-magazine, and Tapestry (a sci-fi journal.)
