Born in San Bernadino, California and raised in Arizona and Oklahoma, Frank Blocker spent his youth in Atlanta before settling on New York City with a side of Los Angeles. He is an alumnus of Cameron University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he was first turned on to writing by Howard Starks and Dennis and Billie Letts, (the parents of playwright Tracy). His first play, Eula Maes Beauty, Bait & Tackle co-authored with Chuck Richards, was a hit for 10 years in Atlanta before opening under off-Broadway contract on Theatre Row in 2001, running for 8 weeks. Southern Gothic Novel won Outstanding Playwriting for Solo Play at the Columbus National Theatre Festival and was later nominated for a Drama Desk Award for solo performance during its 2009 off-Broadway year-long run. The play later received an Ovation Recommendation by the LA Stage Alliance in 2013, directed by Cheryl King and produced by The Visceral Company. Patient Number received the Inner Voices Social Issues One-Act Play Award and was performed for World AIDS Day and had its premiere at Actors Express in Atlanta. Other one-act winners include The Wisconsinners at the Dubuque Fine Arts Center and Kiss and Fade at the Short Attention Play Festival in Boston. Comedy Suite Atlanta premiered at the 78th Street Studio Theatre in NYC and Stabilized Not Controlled premiered at NYCs Stage Left Studio where it ran for ten months, later appearing in the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Other plays include Clarabee in Wichita Falls, Air Marshals, and Good Jew. Co-authored work includes Chameleüns w/ Rochelle Burdine, Macbeth: The Murder Mystery w/ Lydia Bolen and Alice, a musical, with composer William Wade (The York Theatre Development Series, Emerging Artists Theatres Notes From a Page, MITF). His one-minute play was presented by Brooklyn College for their GI60 project. Blocker also edited and published Stage THIS! Ten-Minute Plays (edited w/ Jan Herndon), Stage This, TOO! More Ten-Minute Plays (edited w/ Sydney Stone and Murray Scott Changar), and Stage THIS! Volume 3 (edited w/ Stone and Dana Todd), as well as sci-fi novel The Slaves of Votarus (Changar). He is a member of SAG/AFTRA and Actors Equity Association. He regularly consults other playwrights on writing, dramaturgy, editing and play production. Blocker has been playwright-in-residence for Creative Mechanics Theatre Company NYC and Clayton State College and University, and was guest playwright at Jacksonville State College and Mississippi State Theatre Associations annual conference. He is also an award-winning actor, singer and coach.

Eula Mae's Beauty, Bait & Tackle (Co-Authored With Chuck Richards)

Synopsis:
Watch the Mae clan as they try to help 29-year-old senior Rita try for Miss alabama crown, get eula married off to the man that's courted her for 12 years, keep pageant coach Sue-Sue Daniels from drunken embarrassment (they fail miserably), help Tammy Wynette-wannabe eva through her divorce, and keep Momma and her mouth out of trouble (they don't succeed here, either). o "there's a lot of good-natured humor here and an endearing bittersweet optimism." - the New York Times o "You'll laugh so hard your stomach will hurt." - etc. Magazine o "exuberant, and it's worth a look for this reason alone: it is a wonderful play about celebrating difference and glorying in the weirdness that makes us human. This is a funny, heartwarming evening." - about.com o "an uproarious Southern comedy. Clever writing and impressive turns." - the Atlanta Journal-Constitution o "Comedic brilliance and virtuosity." - Backstage Magazine

Notes:
Originally, 1 woman plays eula, 2 men play All other roles. To produce A full cast version (optional), 3m & 5w. Will NeVeR Allow An All-male version of the show Again. It becomes All-camp drag (a little is okay), instead of A show About fascinating characters.

Macbeth: the Murder Mystery

Synopsis:
Parody of murder mysteries via the plot of That Scottish Play (and of dinner theatre, actors, Shakespeare scholars, etc.). Tray McBride climbs the corporate ladder of ambition only to find himself in big trouble from nemesis Duffy, ghost of his dead executive assistant Bruce, and the three witches - embodied in the one character of his mother-in-law. Was it Lydia McBride's lust for power, greed and ambition, or was it sorcery. Three endings reference this and can be used according to audience vote or to simply keep them guessing as to whodunit each night.

Songs Of Viscera

In a counter-holiday-programming move, the show promises stalkers, loners, killers, and the end of the world, but absolutely no Christmas music. Suite Atlanta

Synopsis:
a week in the life of an Atlanta hotel room in the Fall of 1995. Monica was still unknown and the Olympics were a twinkle in the town's eye. the play is Atlanta as seen through the eyes of its visitors which include a small-town politician walking into a prostitution sting, two snowbird sisters from Long Island stopping through on their way to Florida, two conventioneers that find the problems caused by lose lips, the completely androgynous L.a. casting director, and it wouldn't be the South without a pageant-mom-from-hell to wrap things up. In the style of Neil Simon (and an homage to his work), we see America before much of its innocence would be lost. and there's enough short scenes to thrill the less-than-attentive theatre goers of today.

Notes:
Two Actors play All the guests, one Actor plays bellhop, And one Actress plays All the maids. This can be done As A full cast with 10 hotel guests, 3 maids And 1 bellhop, for A total of 14.

Wisonsinners, The

Synopsis:
Rose and her middle-aged son Ronnie befriend a young New Yorker in an outer-borough subway station very early one morning. the play is a slow "seduction" by Rose of the young woman (-not meaning sexually). When Jessie finally lets her guard down, Rose rises from her wheelchair and we learn that Rose is really a monster in lamb's clothing.
