Blake Bradford is an emmy award winning writer/director that hails from the small appalachian Mountains town of Marion, North Carolina. Blake's theatrical work has appeared all over the US and internationally in Canada, Mexico, Greece, Scotland/england, Denmark, Italy and South AfricA. His original plays I, Undertow, the Unfortunate Honeymoon of Tony and Steve, Dance at Bataan, the Last Cloud, Bitter, Bitter, Burnt and Gay Slave Handbook are actively seen in the regional circuits and have all been produced in NYC. as a director, his most acclaimed work has been with emmy-winner Joan Darling and Bill Svanoe. Blake has directed Ms. Darling all over the US in Svanoe's Quisisana, Lost and Found, Pants on Fire, Callback, the Last Silver Zephyer, and the Last Laugh. He currently serves as artistic Director of Off-Broadway's Phare Play Productions, where he has directed arcadia, the Twilight of the Golds, Snake in Fridge, Callback, the Cherry Orchard, the Tempest, and Dark of the Moon ("ingenious" - Backstage). He is also co-founder and head writer for Mindbleach, a sketch comedy group at Broadway Comedy Club. Blake is currently on the writing/script staff for Live from Lincoln Center (PBS), where he won a 2008 emmy for MAdama Butterfly. This season on LFLC he has worked with Gabriel Bynre (Camelot), Wynton Marsalis (We are Jazz), Peter Martins (Romeo + Juliet NYC Ballet), Lorin Maazel (NY Philharmonic) and Yo-Yo Ma (Silk Road Project). Other TV credits include the Big Gay Sketch Show (LOGO/MTV), Showtime at the apollo (NBC), Drama Desk awards (PBS) and arthur ashe Kids Day (CBS).

Synopsis:
David's lover has just left him. For France. He's not too pleased about this. Bitter, Bitter, Burnt takes place over the course of David's first night alone after being dumped. Cherry Orchard, The

Set in the 1920's in Charleston, South Carolina amidst the oncoming industrialism and decline of the slave-owning class, "the Cherry Orchard" is the story of one woman's return to her plantation after five years in Paris, where she fled after the death of her husband and young son, only to have to face the sale of her home to pay off debts. Presented with live music from the period and an ensemble cast of twelve, the fast paced comedy is sure to please Chekhov scholars and novices alike.

House Of Bernarda Alba

Synopsis:
after the death of her husband, Bernarda alba imposes a traditional mourning period of eight years on her household. Bernarda has always ruled her home with an iron fist and kept her five daughters on 'short chains'. Now that she is the sole dictator, her daughters are left with little escape from her oppression. as a consequence of their father's death, the eldest daughter is left wealthy, while the younger sisters are left with little. This new wealth attracts a suitor, which ignites jealousy and passion among the sisters whom have never been allowed a romance of their own. each of the sisters copes with their mother's violence, their sisters' jealousy and their repressed desires in her own way, but when the youngest decides to break free at all costs, her actions threaten to destroy them all.

I, Undertow

Synopsis:
everyone has issues. all of Justin's live in North Carolina. Justin's an up and coming artist thriving in NYC whose world grinds to a halt when the worse thing possible happens to him - he gets the call to come home due to his grandmother's failing health. Slinking back to small town North Carolina with his latest one night stand forced upon him, he finds himself back neck deep in the family issues that he had been avoiding for more than a decade and facing the girl he left behind. In the midst of the culture clash between small town quirkiness and big city society behavior, Justin may actually discover what he had been running from for all of those years.
