McNaughtin & Son
Synopsis:
Peter McNaughtin has spent an uneventful career in the Coast Guard. He is separated from his A-type wife Bobbie, who sees very little outside of the world shes involved in. Like a good WASP Bobbie over strives, drinks too much and has the tendency to say mean things. Peters life is quickly slipping out of control. 23 years in a meaningless job. Only rising to a moderate rank. Peter feels on the verge of truly becoming what his wife has called him. A nowhere man. He places all hope in his teenage son a track star and state champion on the verge of winning the biggest race of is life. If he does this he gets a slot on the Olympic team, a chance at an athletic scholarship, and most importantly he becomes the hero his Father needs him to be. This would give Peter a sense of the meaning his life has been lacking. Peter McNaughtin, Jr., who prefers to be called Marvelous, has grown up past the grade school track star his Father saw him as, and now at 17 idolizes Kurt Cobain and has decided to have a sex change operation, convert to nihilism and become the first ever post-op, Nietzschian, transgender, rock n roll guitar god. He might very well be gay. Peter plans to make a different kind of hero out of his son. A soldier worthy of a shrine. After he wins the meet its off to Officers Candidate School and a life in the Military. Hell rise to the rank Peter never did see places in the world, met the perfect woman and settle down to give him grand children. the only problem with this plan. . .Marvelous is already dead.

Oswald's Backyard
Synopsis:
In his backyard, Leo Oscar is the United States of America. Naive, petulant and ultimately violent. Leo is at the center of our national obsessionthe search for identity. He battles between idealism and a desire for fame. the television, the media, is his ultimate confirmation. the play is set in New Orleans, September of 1963, in and out of Leo Oscars mind. He has managed to create a political commotion around himself that lands him a shot on a local TV talk show. It is the day the show airs, and it has become Leos passionhis big break. However, Leos story is complicated by a television that wont work, the arrival of some unexpected house guests, and the return of an old friend. Leo is frustrated and humiliated until it is inevitable that he lashes out. While the events in this play may closely resemble the real life Lee Harvey Oswald, this is fiction. the play does not address or rebut any particular conspiracy, but instead explores the psychological landscape of a young American man, driven to extremely desperate actions.
