Don't mind me, I'm just waiting, waiting for folks who said they'd come looking but I ain't seen anyone since the last light we had was snow and now here you all are. I'm wondering what took you so long? 15 year old Elsie Lacks disrupts her own Nine Night ritual to tell the story of her brief life - being institutionalised for 'idiocy', sharing a bed with the boy with no eyes and having special sight. It is the ninth night and time for Elsie's spirit to pass to the other side. Elsie will require the help of all those present at the ritual to ensure her life is honoured, that she passes peacefully and that her experiences do not go on to haunt the community. Nine Night is a celebration and honouring of children who are exploited and forgotten.
