Cerrie Burnell is an actress, author and television presenter best know for her work on CBeebies, a role that had earned her critical recognition and a devoted fan base. Along side this she works closely with a number of charitable organisations linked to childhood and diversity. Cerrie was named in the Observer's top ten children's tv presenter and the Guardians 2011 list of 100 most inspirational women. As an actor she has appeared in shows such as Eastenders, holby city and the Bill as well as the role of Miss Green in the final series of Grangehill. in 2007 she wrote and performed in her first play Winged: A fairytale at The Tristan Bates, a script she is currently adapting for film. Cerrie performed in various radio drama's, most recently Welcoe to our village, Please invade carefully, and voiced the CBeebies show meet the pups. In 2013 she wrote and performed in a one women family show The Magical Playroom, premiering it at the Edinburgh Festival. Her first book Snowflakes was published by Scholastic in sep 2013 and her second picture book Mermaid published in April. October 2015 will also see the release of her first middle-grade chapter book series: Harper and The Scarlet Umbrella.

Winged - A Fairytale
Synopsis:
Set to a London backdrop, Winged is a tale to enchant all ages, mixing elements of traditional fairytales wih a sharp, modern vibe. Winged is the story of Violet, a fairy with one wing. Banished to the forbidden forest, Violet befriends a bumble bee who teaches her that determination can be just as powerful as magic. a quirky adventure celebrating diversity in an inner-city fairy community - not so different from ours.
