Scott Z. Burns is a screenwriter, director, and producer. His film credits include the original screenplay for "Side Effects" (2013), directed by Steven Soderbergh (starring Jude Law, Rooney Mara, and Catherine Zeta-Jones), "Contagion" (2011) directed by Steven Soderbergh (starring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, and Jude Law), as well as the screen adaptation of Soderberghs "The Informant!" (2009). Burns also co-wrote the Academy Award-winning "Bourne Ultimatum" (2007) and was a producer on the Academy Award-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" (2006). He wrote and directed HBO Films "PU-239" (2006), produced by Soderbergh and George Clooney. His play THE LIBRARY (2014) was produced by The Public Theater in New York. It was nominated for the John Gassner Award by the Outer Critics Circle.
