Accidents and Emergencies
Synopsis:
Accidents and Emergencies is a programme of brand-new short musicals inspired by experiences in Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments in England. In July 2015, the creatives (composers, lyricists and book writers) received a series of prompts in the form of anonymised first-hand accounts of experiences in A&E. Taking inspiration from ideas and moments in the prompts, the individuals and team have created new musicals, which are having their world premiere in Accidents and Emergencies.
Notes:
The creators of the new musicals are Rebecca Applin, Gus Gowland, Jennifer Whyte and Matt Winkworth and Chris Bush. Asia Osborne and Jeremy Lloyd Thomas are directing, with Nathan Martin serving as Musical Director. Accidents and Emergencies is produced by Sue Knox for This Stage Limited.

Larksong
Synopsis:
In this powerful tale of friendship and fate, a gang of youngsters risk the deadly anger of a king. A new play from the winner of the 2014 Perfect Pitch Award. Mouse and his friends live in the times after the Romans, sheltering amongst the skeletons of a fallen empire. They're not heroes or kings or warriors, just ordinary folk. No one will ever want to sing songs of them. But, when they stumble upon a band of sleeping soldiers, each carrying weapons more magnificent than anything they could have imagined, their futures suddenly look very different. Perhaps they will find themselves in a great story after all. "If there isn't a battle, you haven't got to the end yet."
