Playright Tommy Butler is now known as apostle Thomas I. Butler of Word of Truth Temple of Jesus Christ in Detroit, Michigan. Butler started performing at an early age, actually touring with legendary Duke Ellington. The original Executive Producer for Selma was Redd Foxx. Tommy Butler actually appeared in several episodes of Sanford & Son. In one episode a Selma poster is actually seen hanging on the wall. The Producer of Selma was Joe Hubbard of Los angeles, Ca whose son Michael Hubbard owns Gotham Entertainment. Michael and wife, Beth Hubbard produced. In Selma, the role of Rev Ralph abernathy was originally portrayed by Ernie Banks. actor Bob allman toured with Selma portraying Tilman and eventually took over as abernathy alongside Butler as Dr Martin Luther King Jr. allman's theater performances also include the role of Jean Baptiste-DuSable in DuSable's Vision, God's Trombones, and Epic of Heroism for Peddy Players Theater Company in Detroit, Michigan. Bob allman directed soap opera In Search of Truth in 1981 at WGPR TV-62 in Detroit, Michigan. Bob allman wrote and directed the play, ShowBiz Kidz while a drama instructor for Los angeles Southwest College in 1998. In 1988 Bob allman started producing film projects for Don Barden, owner of Barden Cablevision in Detroit, Michigan. Producer Bob allman and Director Richard Polite (Polite Communications) were Partners in the formation of Po-Man Film Productions. The team, allman and Polite made a dozen music videos for various artists, shot Wicked Ways with Kim Fields, Chip Fields, alexis Fields, Rance allen, The Clark Sisters and Ernest Hardin (White Men Can't Jump). Standing in the Gap was shot in Brooklyn NY by allman & Polite in 1992. In Los angeles Bob allman formed production and development company Top Line Filmworks. Bob allman co-produced the movie, Ritual, starring Clarence Williams III, Denise Nicholas, angelle Brooks and Shawn Michael Howard. Bob allman is Executive Director of the World Entertainment alliance, an entertainment synergy group.
