Sari is a NYC bred playwright, actress, and chess instructor. Her plays have been produced at IRT, Jimmys No. 43, Roy Arias Theater, and The Strawberry Festival. Plays include The Chess Lesson, The Thing About Dan, Mr Landing Takes A Fall, Brunch!, Christmas Island, Cafe Cafe, Endicott Oh Endicott, Rabbit on the Landing, Needs, & Blurring The Lines. Residencies include IRT, Space on Ryder Farms, Jimmy's No 43, Manhattan Theater Source Playground Development Series. The Thing About Dan, was accepted into Manhattan Repertory Theater, and Brunch! in The Network One-Act series. She was a champion scholastic chess player. Named The Best Beginner Chess Teacher in NYC on Mommypoppins.com, shes taught in every borough since she was 13, teaching and volunteering for over two dozen public and private schools, including the NY Public Libraries, and The Harlem Children Zone. First day teaching included getting a bat broken over her head. She is a graduate of Saint Anns School in Brooklyn and NYU Gallatin, where she majored in Utopias. She started working as an actress at the age of 3, her first spot was a Dimetapp commercial. You might recognize her from those Life Cereal commercials in the 80s, Your kid will like this, unless theyre weird making a fish face. As an actress she has appeared off & off off broadway in shows at Circle in the Square, EST, York Theater, St Clements, La Mama, and Arclight. NYC includes The Crucible, Hey You Lightman, Picasso at the Lapin-Agile, The Childrens Hour with Kate Burton, A Change Of Address with Allison Janney, MacBeth, Midsummer Nights Dream, Estrogenius Festivals, etc. Schoolhouse Theater: Imaginary Invalids, The Crucible. Film includes Mr Destiny, June Roses, The Year of the Nail, Artworks. She has also appeared in over two dozen commercials and print ads. Sari studied acting with Fred Kareman, Shakespeare with John Basil, singing with Stephanie Scourby, Improv with Armando Diaz. She is an Artistic Associate with Purple Rep Theater Company, and co-founder/Artistic Director of year-old, non-profit theater company Slightly Altered States. Synopsis:
Three drastically different parents arrive to take a chess class with their childrens teacher and despite everyones best intentions, the adults devolve into children, the class slips out of control, and the teacher is one romance novel away from a nervous breakdown.

Developed through a residency at Space on Ryder Farms (June 2011), and a workshop at Jimmy's No 43 (July 2011).
