Lawson is also the author of a popular children's book, "Colors Belong to Everyone." Diary Of A Beauty Queen

Synopsis:
he play takes place in a small Southern town in 1964. It is imperative that the play has a mid-sixties feel. Before mod, hippies, the woman's movement. the characters are competing in the town beauty pageant. the contestants must have bouffant hair. they must wear one piece swim suits and stylish gowns (tasteful and from the period.). these girls have entered the pageant for various reasons, perhaps dated but significant for the time. During the early sixties in the South, pageants were a major event. Beauty Queens were town celebrities.

Why has John traveled all the way from Chicago to attend the second wedding of his childhood friend, Sylvia Hamilton? Is it because he hopes to reignite an old love or is he just merely an observer? Four Corners of the Circle takes place the same year Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, the first Vietnam Draft Lottery began, Woman's Liberation was maturing and the Stonewall Riots occurred. Yes, 1969 was a year full of changes for the country as well as for the Hamilton family in Clarkston, Arkansas.

a play about the ever-changing world of politics, sexuality, love and integrity. a senator's picture-perfect life evaporates when his wife outs his 20 year affair with his best friend. as he and his staff descend upon his mother's estate to work on spin and damage control, a visit from his wife and son spill out into a well publicized press conference.
