Christina Calvit is an ensemble member of Lifeline Theatre in Chicago. She has written over a dozen theatrical adaptations which have been performed throughout the United States and Canada, including a Room with a View, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (Jeff Non-equity award, 2004),Far from the Madding Crowd, Jane eyre, Pistols for Two (Jeff Non-equity award, 2000), the Talisman Ring (Joseph Jefferson award, 1996), and Pride and Prejudice (Jeff Non-equity award, 1986). Her musical adaptation of Queen Lucia, a Musical Romp, created with composer/lyricist George Howe, was awarded a 2005 after Dark award and a 2006 Jeff Non-equity award. Original plays include Snowflake Tim's Big Holiday adventure, Purloined Poe, Chaos (co-writer), and Several Voices from the Cloud (agnes Nixon award, 1981).

Jane Eyre

Synopsis:
Orphaned Jane eyre overcomes her early abusive and lonely experiences to become an accomplished governess at Thornfield, the mysterious home of Mr. Rochester. She is drawn to the master of the house, but their future is destroyed by a secret from his past. . .a secret that also forces Jane to flee Thornfield into poverty and illness. eventually, Jane is able to find family, wealth, and love, but not without a cost. Though faithful to the original story, this adaptation also focuses on Jane's gradual ability to shed the ghosts of her past to become a fully realized person.

Room With A View, A

Synopsis:
Lucy Honeychurch is on her first trip to Italy with her cousin Charlotte when she meets the intellectually challenging but socially unacceptable George emerson. they share a passionate kiss, but Charlotte crushes the affair. Lucy later becomes engaged to the more acceptable, rather priggish Cecil Vyse, which seems to seal her fate. But back in england, a series of coincidences bring George into Lucy's social circle once again. Will she have the strength to choose courage, truth, and love over convention? an inventive adaptation of e. M. Forster's classic novel about the consequences and rewards of being true to one's real nature.
