David Cantor (born 06 May 1977) comes from a television background and has written on a wide variety of shows over the past nine years. Initially in production and script editorial roles David has since written for three of the BBC's most successful sitcoms, My Family, Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps and The Green Green Grass. Aside from his work for the BBC David wrote the nocturnal comedy Noddyland, which was developed by Green Inc and entered into Channel 4's Comedy Blap season last year. David has also contributed to sketch shows including BBC's That Mitchell & Webb Look, Children's programmes such as CITV's My Phone Genie and contributed material for the anarchic game show Shooting Stars. Away from Television David has written three stage plays. Stopping Distance had a full cast read through at the Old Vic, Sheep is about to be distributed to theatres nationwide, while David's most recent project is the 1960s set l Play For Me.

Synopsis:
1965. Elliot Figueroa is a trailblazing musician whose temperamental side comes hand-in-hand with his raw talent. The world is his for the taking. However, when feared impresario Bert Ambrose signs Elliot to his books and attempts to make him as accessible as his other star turn, Kathy Kirby, Elliot quickly realises his music's suffering and that success indeed comes at a price. Determined to return to the purity and uninhibited nature of his earlier music, Elliot tries to break away even if it means making dangerous enemies...
