Dave Carley has what he terms his "tortuous" route to the Theatre includes careers in law, as a newspaper editor, cigar salesman and meter reader. Happily, he is now employed as editor by Playwright's Union of Canada, that country's foremost publisher of plays. For one of his plays, "First Strike," Mr. Carley received the Otonabee Theatre's New Play award in 1982. He is also the author of a popular column of humor, "ernie Fleming," which has appeared in several Ontario publications and he is in the process of writing his first novel.
