Patrick Carr's plays include 'Prima Donna' (shortlisted for QTC/Courier Mail George Landen Dann Award), 'A Kiss in Time' (Tropic Line Theatre and winner of 'New Plays for QLD'), 'Batavia' (Judith Wright Centre, Brisbane 2005) and 'Lexie Turns to Stone' (Judith Wright Centre, 2007). In 2006 he was shortlisted for the Premier's Literary Awards for 'Batavia', which won the 2007 John and Libby Fairfax Award. He's been involved with Tropic Line Theatre in Townsville, with QTC's Studio, and is a founding member of MAP Theatre Co (Brisbane). Before he started writing seriously, Patrick established The Performing Arts Bookshop in Sydney

Lexie Turns To Stone
Synopsis:
Art, money, love and deception on the Gold Coast. Lonny is a self-made man with a shady past. Chris is a Gold Coast sculptor. Chris and Lonny go back a long way. So does Lonny's wife, Lexie. When Lonny commissions his old mate to produce a statue of his wife, their past looms over them. Things become worse when the unpredictable Angelica appears and begins to wreak havoc with everyone's lives. And then there's the special treat they've lined up for Chris. Things start to dissolve in ways no one expected. . .
