David has had an avid interest in the Theatre since I was at school and have spent the last 15 years actively involved in local amateur Theatre appearing and directing in both musicals and Drama. I became a playwright by accident, writing my first play "Father's Funeral" as a self inflicted challenge. I produced the original version of Father's Funeral for Grenoside Players back in 2003. I was astounded by the reception it received. Shortly after this I won a coveted place on a writer's course at the "Crucible Theatre" in Sheffield. During the course I rewrote the original draft, cutting the characters down from the original nine to six. I am now looking forward to seeing this revised version produced on stage.
