Robin Chapman's first novel was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1963 - in the same year his first stage play was produced at the Theatre Royal, London E15, and his first TV play was performed on BBC tv. He created a sensation on ITV with his London gangland thrillers Spindoe and Big Breadwinner Hog during the era of the Kray brothers. Then he wrote two BBC Plays for Today, with music, and also the half-hour rock opera Grease Monkey. His later plays for the stage include Gymnasium and One of Us (both at Greenwich) and Guests at Croydon Warehouse. As a novelist Robin has now published ten novels. These include his acclaimed Cervantine trilogy, extending the lives of characters found in Don Quixote. At present he's at work on the final draft of a contemporary novel-in-dialogue called Look Who's Talking to be published in the Autumn by Booknow.
