Anniversary Waltz

Synopsis:
On their 15th anniversary, a happy husband makes one wine-inspired mistake. He announces to his in-laws the romancing he and their daughter enjoyed before they were legally bound. the information is received with violent results by outraged grandparents and blase children. the payoff comes at the hilarious second-act curtain. the 13-year-old daughter chooses to tell on air an audience of several dozen million people just what started all the trouble at home. From then on troubles mount, tempers rise, until everything explodes riotously and the play ends on a warm and tender note, all the family having gained a little more understanding of each other.

French Touch, The

Synopsis:
New York City at the end of the Civil War. there are two theatres on either side of the street. the theatre for the academy of Music which is just about to have a famous Parisian ballet company perform and on the other Niblo's Garden which is about to open a meloDrama written by a War vet. Lotta the owner of Niblo's is not happy about the ballet company as she thinks it will take her customers. the star of the ballet Lisette and the manager Maestro meet Lotta and Clyde Hallam the author of the meloDrama. Maestro flirts with Lotta - but Clyde and Lisstte fall in love. One day Lisette sneaks out of the ballet rehearsals to watch the meloDrama. Maestro arrives and orders her back. He locks her in her dressing room. the academy catches fire and Lisette is trapped - but Clyde rescues her. With no theatre and no money the ballet troupe prepare to go back to Paris. Clyde goes to the docks to say goodbye to Lisette. Lotta arrives - she has had an idea - what about combining the meloDrama with the ballet? Maestro agrees - but Clyde is not happy about his script being tampered with. the first night comes and it is a huge success - the American Musical has been born

I Had A Ball
On Coney Island matchmaking fortune teller Garside falls for floozy addie. Stan recently out of prison falls for Jeannie who operates the Ferris Wheel. Ma Maloney tries to keep the members of her alley Gang out of the clutches of patrolman Millhauser. [Having done a production of I Had A Ball in high school (likely the first since it closed on Broadway, since Chodorov was thrilled anyone remembered it when my drama teacher had to call him directly for the rights), I can definitively say your summary is inaccurate. Garside, who's a grifter having come up with a fortune telling scam, does not fall for Addie. He simply tells her what he sees in the ball (Sam), that she'll meet someone at 5 o'clock on the boardwalk. He's actually trying to set up his friends Stan and Jeanie, but they end the first act with the wrong people (Addie and, the lone shark, Brooks, respectively). In act II, after being betrayed by them, Stan and Jeannie leave their wrongly matched spouses. Brooks and Addie separately go to Garside's apartment, as they each blame him for their failed marriages, only to wind up meeting each other and leaving together in love (or at least in lust). Later, after Stan and Jeannie try unsuccessfully to make livings through not the most legal methods, they meet while running from the cops (Officer Millhauser), and fall in love as they're handcuffed together. (then they live happily ever after , for thirty days apiece.) When Stan and Jeannie meet, Stan is not just out of prison, but a few months out of being married to a very rich woman. Also, Jeannie owns not just a ferris wheel, but the Wonder Wheel, until Brooks sells it in act II, leading to their break up; long before she meets Stan.] - James Oneill

Junior Miss

Synopsis:
Harry and Grace Graves have two children-Lois, and Judy, who at 13 has, besides her confidante Fuffy and an amazing capacity for food, a burning desire to grow up to the glamorous age of 16. With characteristic reasoning Judy decides that her Father must be in love with the daughter of his boss, affectionately called J.B. It is decided that it is Judy's duty to bring Harry back into the family fold. In addition to saving her family, Judy takes it upon herself to 'save" her Uncle Willis, whom she has never seen until his unexpected arrival on Christmas eve. Because Uncle Willis' name must never be mentioned in the presence of her mother, Judy decides he has been spending his time in jail. When Judy isn't binding the family ties, she and Fuffy practice walking in their first high-heeled shoes and conspiring to wangle young men to be their escorts for the New Year's dance; the result of all of which practically assures Harry of the loss of the partnership with J.B. However, with circumstances at their worst, there is an unexpected turn, and Judy becomes Miss Judy Graves, a lovely Junior Miss who has her escort for her first dance.
