In the professional music field, Rod is a writer member of aPRa and is well known for his numerous musical achievements. these include compositions for radio film and television, arrangements for large and small choirs and ensembles, solo pop and jazz influenced works and numerous musical Theatre songs and arrangements and a full scale musical which is enjoying huge success around the world, CRUISIN' the Musical. More recently, Rod composed the soundtrack for a TV documentary, "Tractors across Australia" in conjunction with Circling Shark Productions. He also composed the theme music for a film project titled "Breast Screen Cancer". He has also written and recorded theme music for 100FM radio and numerous jingles for television. He is currently working on the orchestral score for "eureka" the Musical with Mike Harvey. Rod also arranged a full opera for the stage "Rosetta" which premiered at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre , Western Australia, in January 2007. Rod has recorded and toured extensively and produced albums for various artists throughout AustraliA. He has musically directed a host of stage musicals including "CaLaMITY JaNe", "OKLaHOMa","MY FaIR LaDY", "GODSPeLL", JOSePH aND HIS aMaZING TeCHNICOLOUR DReaM COaT", "the BOYFRIeND", "SOUND OF MUSIC" to name a few. Rod co- directed and musically arranged and directed his own musical "CRUISIN" in concert mode at the Dolphin Theatre in 1995 and at the Parmelia Hilton in 1997, in Sydney 2003 and in Perth in May 2004. In October 2007, Rod will musically direct "Cruisin'"at the Regal Theatre.

Cruisin the Musical is coming to the Regal theatre on 26 October - 4 November 2007. the show is a Rock 'n Roll story about Vinnie, a "good Italian boy" who has migrated to Australia in the early 50's with his parents and sister Maria. His Father Vincenzo has the ideal Italian lifestyle worked out for Vinnie, but Vinnie has other ideas! He must lead the Cruisin' band and win the Battle Of the Bands. When the story transforms to new Years eve 1959, conflict comes to a head when Vincenzo finds out Vinnie is playing that "Crazy rock and a rolla music", he has fallen in love with a "blonde girl from Australia", he is failing his exams at school and, what's worse, his daughter has fallen in love with the guitarist and "bodgie no hoper", Phil Stanton! It takes courage and determination for the family to resolve their differences. This is a fun filled, all singing, dancing and big band show, featuring 21 new songs arranged for a 12 piece band. the show will star Glenn Shorrock of Little River Band fame as Papa and Chris Murphy, runner up in Australian Idol 2006 as Johnny angel.
