Polly Churchill is currently head writer on TEACUP TRAVELS for Plum Films / CBeebies. She has recently written episodes of BUBBLE BATH BAY for Telegael Ireland/ ABC, TOPSY AND TIM for award-winning children's indie Darrall Macqueen / CBeebies, as well as developing two new animation projects for Absolutely Cuckoo. She also wrote and co-produced an interactive BAFTA nominated Key Stage 1 project called WAYS OF TALKING for Gamelab London and BBC Learning. Polly's other credits include numerous episodes of CAPTAIN MACK for Kickback Media/CITV, JIM JAM AND SUNNY for Wish Films/CITV, and developed JUMBLE JET, an animation for Lupus Films. Other credits include the BAFTA-winning HOOBS series for Jim Henson Company/Channel 4, POSTMAN PAT for Entertainment Rights, BOB THE BUILDER and RUBBADUBBERS for HIT Entertainment, THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE for Gullane, and FIMBLES for Novel Entertainment. Polly has been selected for the Royal Court Theatre's writers' programme 2014. She has written three radio plays for BBC Radio 4 and 5, and in 2012 had four short stage plays produced; UPSTAGE at Camden People's Theatre, THE VIEW FROM HERE at Theatre 503, LIDO as part of the Little Pieces of Gold New Writing Showcase at Southwark Playhouse, and SWARM, again at CPT. Another short play, C.O.C, co-written with Vanessa Wilkins, was produced for Little Pieces of Gold at Southwark Playhouse in 2013. Polly's play FRIDGE! - a show about climate change aimed at kids, which premiered as part of the Rising Tides collection at the HighTide Festival earlier this year - is currently being workshopped by producer Neil Sheppeck and director Gavin Dent with the aim of staging it at the Arcola Theatre in early 2015. Her short film, ARMS OF AN ANGEL, screened at Raindance, was selected by the BBC Short Film Festival, and was winner of the BBC Radio 1 Best First Film Award.
