Born to Barbadian parents, P J a Social Science Graduate (B A Hons) from London, is co-founder, artistic director and playwright-in-residence for True Colours Theatre Company. Having trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama, P J is an accomplished playwright, theatre director, choreographer and producer. Her work has been produced by Tricycle Theatre, Oval House Theatre and Yaa Theatre, including the acclaimed Even A Miracle Needs Wings To Fly. After winning several writing bursaries including the BAFTA Focus On Talent Screenwriting bursary, P J's future ambitions include a West-End debut, writing for television, building on her performance and educational links with Nordic Black Theatre, in Oslo Norway, and writing her first novel. Until that happens you will find P J tutoring (educational & fitness) or using her culinary skills as a qualified chef.

Aftershock

Synopsis:
Jordan and Marion Clarke are a Barbadian couple, living in London, england. Married 22 years, Jordan (42) is a Train engineer for London Underground, Marion (41) an adult education Course Manager. The couple have two children. Daniel (17) currently at college and Sean (15) still at school, but the Clarke's could never foresee let alone prepare themselves for the devastating and bewildering chain of events that would lead to Daniel's untimely and suspicious death. 'aftershock' focuses on a family who can't deal with the loss of a child and the subsequent revelations by a woman with an agenda of her own, who's making it her business to unravel a family hell bent on trying to keep emotions under lock and key.

Bingo

Synopsis:
The time is 1996. Franklyn Braithwaite is 41 and disillusioned with life. all he ever does is drink and bitch about cricket. Merlene his 39 year old wife, is a professional woman with a no nonsense attitude. She only has one passion. Going to Bingo every Friday night. But bingo is not the only thing on her mind. Marvin the bingo caller has caught her attention and Bingo is not the only game being played. as both deal with their varying lives things are about to change by the arrival of Marva Brown. Merlene's best friend from Barbados. Inseparable as children they haven't seen each other for twenty years. But Merlene is back for reason and its' not good.

Synopsis:
even a Miracle Needs Wings To Fly tells the story of two 15 year old British-Caribbean boys, Martin evans and Daniel O'Neill. When Margaret Toulmin a lecturer in Black History comes to visit their school to talk to them, both boys seem very disinterested and do their utmost to disrupt the class. after a well-deserved detention the boys are without warning transported back in time to the world of slavery, lynchings', witch-hunts and oppression. They meet four black historical figures but instead of just observing their lives and learning from them, they become the characters in history. every pain felt, every moment relived. They are no longer in charge of their destiny. If their past characters die so do they. They cannot risk bringing the present into the past. They cannot change the order of things. But these are 15 year old boys. Its in their genetic make up NOT to listen to anyone older than 16 let alone their elders. Is it just a dream or are they in a nightmare they can't escape from?

Synopsis:
If you had the chance to live your life all over again, would you do things differently? Would you treat people differently? Love more openly? Judge less critically? Suppose you did have that chance? What would you do? There are two people. Both are not what they seem. One, a thirty-something professional who is looking for something she can't find, the other a nineteen-year-old girl re-claiming something lost. each is given the chance to examine their lives all over again, but what they discover results in them both questioning their mortality.

Synopsis:

Micki & Maude

Synopsis:
It's 8pm, New Years' eve. Twenty-somethings' Michaela and Maude are preparing for a fun night out with two new men they met the night before in a wine bar. Michaela is looking for no-strings fun while Maude is looking for something more lasting. However these two women are shameless, loud, cheeky and up for a laugh. This short play gives an incite into the close friendship both these women have and how they both see the world. It's friendship at its rawest and funniest.
