Maya Contreras: My love of the arts has given me a substantial background in Writing, Performance, and Production. As a professional writer, I have covered the current climate of film, music, art and fashion industries. I have conducted interviews with Iconic Designer Calvin Klein, Television actors Illana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson (Broad City), Filmmaker Larry Clark (Kids), The Cast of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Comedian Bill Burr, and TV Producer & Writer Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras, UK) to name a few. As a playwright, my play Nervous Breakdown the Musical was alternate at FringeNYC in 2011 and my play "The Bloodline of Shadrick Grace"premiered FringeNYC in 2014 to wonderful reviews. As an artist management and production associate, I had the privilege of being on the management team for: Academy Award winner Marvin Hamlisch ("A Chorus Line"), Academy Award winner Bill Conti ("Rocky"), Tony Award winning Actress Betty Buckley ("Cats"), Kennedy Center Honoree and legendary pianist Leon Fleisher, Grammy award winning conductor Sir Simon Rattle, to name a few. I am certified in Television Studio Production from BRICmedia in Brooklyn, New York, and I received a BFA in Theatre from Florida State University.
