Alice Cooper is a performer, writer and Theatre-maker based in Sydney. Her current work explores the human relationship to ordinary objects. Her hope is that through performance, she can transform the everyday into sources of wonderment. During her time completing her Bachelor of Creative Arts degree from Melbourne University, alice wrote, directed and acted in several university productions. In 2007 alice moved to Paris, where she completed the first year of actor training at L'ecole Philippe Gaulier. In 2010 alice was a resident artist at Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre Sydney in their Artslab program. In the later part of 2010 alice extended her performance practice by training and performing with the ensemble at PACT Centre for emerging Artists. alice took her solo show Clown Lights Stage on a national tour to the Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne Fringe Festivals in 2011. In May 2011 she performed as Silvius in Siren Theatre's as You Like It at Carriageworks. alice is currently undertaking a Fresh Ink mentorship with Australian Theatre for Young People where she is mentored by Rosie Dennis. She tweets regularly about Theatre and other interests at @alicemarycooper and blogs about her practice at alicemarycooper.com.
