Cay, The
Synopsis:
1942. Philip a twelve year old American boy lives with his mother in Venezuela. She is worried about the War and decides that they must go back to the US. The boat they are travelling on is torpedoed. Philip is knocked unconscious - when he comes to he finds that he is on an open raft in the middle of the sea with the ship's cat and the biggest ugliest black man he has ever seen. Things could not be worse - until Phillip looses his sight as a result of the blow to his head.
